EDUCATIONAL DEVELOPMENT
The focus is on building a commitment to school, promoting academic achievement, and fostering the goal of higher education for the participant. Through the following activities:

Academic Success Counseling: The program counselor or another knowledgeable staff member meets with parents to communicate academic updates, attendance, homework and behavior checks from the school portal for their children in the school system. Strategies are offered to assist parents in helping their children to stay on the path of academic success.

Academic Tutoring: The setting for tutorial sessions and homework. Tutoring will be offered after school. The tutors are professionals who are provided by Advanced Learning Center (ALC).

STREAM (Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics): The focus is on each discipline of STREAM.

#CAP (College Admission Process): It is designed to assist high school students in their efforts to enter colleges by providing a hands-on approach that includes all the steps from researching various colleges to completing the application process.

College/Cultural Tours: Students will be able to tour colleges, universities, and technical centers. The students will also be able to participate in some of the local cultural activities in the various cities.

PERSONAL & SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT
Help builds the participants social and emotional skills for self-monitoring, preventing risk taking behavior, realizing personal goals, and the building of cultural pride.

LEADERSHIP
DEVELOPMENT
Activities include workshops in leadership, diversity, team building, decision making, anger management, financial literacy and other educational workshops addressing risk behaviors

CIVIC AND CULTURE AWARENESS
The participants gain appreciation for diversity, the arts, and knowledge of their culture of origin through community service, unique experiences and participating in Law Forums.

RECOGNITION AND SCHOLARSHIPS
The participants are recognized for leadership, community services and academics. An awards program is held in the month of May. We give the following scholarships: Leola Padilla Scholarship, Vivian Lester Henry Memorial Scholarship, Telsea Abbott Memorial Scholarship (Precious Pearls), Joseph L. Carwise Leadership (Alpha Institute) and Edward “Donnie” McKahand Scholarship.

PARENT/GUARDIAN SEMINARS
Assist with broadening parent/guardian engagement in their child’s education and instructions on how to navigate the public-school system for maximum advocacy of their child’s educational needs.
